Toluna Influencers

Updated by on July 26th, 2022

Toluna Influencers is one of the larger online survey site, with over 24 million members, which has been operated by the Toluna Group since 2000. Toluna is a market research company based in France, but they operate in around 70 countries around the world.

Surveys at Toluna reward the people who complete them with points, which currently have a value of about 30 points to 1 cent. So, for example, a 6,000 point survey is worth about $2. Survey reward amounts vary quite a bit on this site, with very short surveys awarding as little as 30 points and longer surveys giving up to around 10,000 points.

Rewards can be ordered once your points balance reaches at least 30,000 points. For that amount there are gift cards from about a dozen different stores. The only reward available which isn’t a gift card is a $30 Paypal payment option for 95,000 points; so there’s about a 5,000 point ($1.67) fee to receive Paypal payments rather than a gift card. Rewards from this site run a little slow, requiring 2 – 8 weeks to be received after being requested.

In addition to paid surveys it is also possible to earn a smaller number of points by completing very simple one-question polls, or by adding quality content of your own to their program (e.g. creating a poll which other users can answer). If you find polls to be interesting (or the responses people give to them) this can be an interesting way to earn some points while passing the time.

It’s important to note that while the points for polls generally credit either immediately or within a few minutes, the point rewards for filling out surveys may require from one day to six weeks to credit.

The one real downside of Toluna’s program may become apparent in the signup process: the design of the site can lean more to appearance than usability. So the way the signup process is laid out can be a little annoying. Further, some of the profile surveys may be difficult to complete if you’re using a laptop or a PC with a lower-resolution monitor.

If you attempt to do one of the profile surveys and can’t see the “Next” button at the bottom of the survey it may be necessary to adjust the zoom in your browser. That’s not a serious issue, but it would obviously be nice if everything on the site was designed to automatically resize based on the screen being used to view the site. This issue appears to only affect the profiler surveys, and not any other surveys on the site.

The profiler surveys are important, though, as they will help Toluna get a better sense of which surveys you may be eligible to participate in, and improve your experience in trying to qualify for surveys. Aside from the way they are displayed the profiler surveys are short and simple, and reward 100 points upon completion.

Toluna does have a simple mobile app available for both Android and iOS devices. The app allows for easy access to answer polls and surveys or add content of your own to their platform. It’s not possible to fill out the profiler surveys from a mobile device; so you’ll need to use a laptop or desktop PC to complete the profile surveys. After filling out all the profiles you can provide Toluna with your mobile number if you’d like to receive limited SMS invitations to participate in paid surveys on your mobile device which you’re likely to qualify for.

At this time Toluna doesn’t have a referral program available for people who use the site. So it won’t be possible to earn points by telling your friends or family about the site.
